Bachelor of Studies (Hons) English Literature / Linguistics
Objectives of the Program:
English has become a Lingua Franca and basic need to approach the vast store house of knowledge of every field in the world. The B.S. (English) program has been designed to fulfill the need for a rigorous and enriching academic experience. The program has been designed for an overall development of the individual that includes exposure to an integrated series of courses in Literature, Linguistics, History, international literatures as well as social sciences, liberal arts, sciences and management. Hence the curriculum aims at preparing students to serve the productive needs not only as an individual but also as a citizen of the society.

Intermediate or equivalent with minimum 2nd division.

1 . The foundation courses in the Scheme of Study are mandatory for all Literature & Linguistics students.
2 . A minimum of 5 courses are to be selected from the list in the 3rd Year (Semester 5 & 6).
3 . Courses covering 30 Credit Hours are to be selected from the list in the final Year (Semester 7&8).
4 . Both the courses of Literary Criticism in the 3rd Year (Semester 5 & 6) are mandatory for students aiming to study Literature in Semesters 7& 8.
